 | "Nice crystallized specimen, no damage, displays well, a must have for the Barite collector from this classic locality. The Black Cloud mine is one of the major modern-day mines of Leadville. The mine is known to collectors for its attractive specimens consisting of crystals of pyrite, galena, and golden barite. A considerable percentage of the barite crystals found at the Black Cloud mine display phantoms that are commonly darker in hue and more opaque than the overlaying barite crystal. The edges of the phantom are often offset approximately 45 degrees from the edges of the enclosing crystal. This results in a "diamond"-patterned phantom and is quite distinctive."
