"Transparent honey-yellow trigonal scalenohedral calcite crystals to 1.4 cm fill the interior of this specimen. The missing portion of the shell was dissolved by ground water (not broken) – the calcite crystals lining the shell interior are undamaged. The calcite crystals in this fossilized clam shell-Mercenaria Permagna-Pleistocene grew in the natural pockets formed by buried fossil clamshells. Not many fine collector specimens come from Florida, of course." Location: Rucks' Pit, near Ft. Drum, Okeechobee County, Florida Size: 8.2 x 7.0 x 3.9 cm. Weight: 0.7 lbs.
