 | "A VERY HIGHLY ARCHING, beautifully symmetrical, nearly pristine, lustrous pyritized spirifer brachiopod from the Devonian of Sylvania, Ohio. This specimen has excellent bi-lateral symmetry and comes from a quarry west of Toledo. Note: These brachiopods once lived in a warm shallow sea ( which is now the known as the Sylvania ,Ohio area ). The brachiopods were originally composed of calcite. Later during the fossilization process the calcite was replaced by Pyrite ( fools gold ) and buried in limestone.
